“All I’m saying is that I don’t like the colour black!” I explained to my ebony girlfriend Rachael.

“How can you not like black? The colour goes with everything!”

“Sorry but I find it repulsive!”

“So you find me repulsive, is that it?”

“What? What are you talking about?”

“I’m a black woman! So, therefore, you don’t like me!”

“What?! No! I don’t mean it like that! You know what I meant!”

“No, I don’t know what you mean, please explain!”

You know what, I’m not even going to bother with you! I need a break from you!
Goodbye!” I shouted at her in anger as I slammed the door.

I knew exactly what she was getting at. She was accusing me of being a racist. How could I be racist when I was in a relationship with her? It just doesn’t make sense. She thought I was talking about skin colour, which I wasn’t! That night I decided to sit back and relax in my apartment and watch some TV to cool down. But all of a sudden the lights went off and all electricity was cut off in my apartment. My first thought was “must be a blackout!” That’s when I felt somebody come up from behind me and place a cloth over my mouth and nose, causing me to fall asleep from the smell

When I woke up I found myself in an unfamiliar room. With an unfamiliar body that alarmed me as I quickly stood up. But what I didn’t expect was the fact that it would be hard to keep my balance, causing me to bend my knees slightly. The first thing I noticed was the colour of my skin. “I… I’m a black woman?” I questioned in a new female pitch. My skin was no longer white, hairy and rough. It was brown, soft and hairless. My movements were restricted in the tight, black leather clothing I was now trapped in. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t seem to remove them. The black leather gloves and black 4 inch high heels also seemed to be stuck onto my body. I felt something smooth brush my back only to realise it was the long black straight feminine hair I now had. I began to panic as I figured out it was not a wig.

My heart was beating like a set of drums now. I had no idea how to get out of these feminine clothes but what disgusted me, even more, was the fact that all the clothes I was wearing were black. Even my skin colour had changed. At that moment I worked out exactly who was behind all this, and it was at that moment she walked into the room with a great big smile. “Rachael!” “I see you’re finally up! Aww don’t look too upset, at least your bracelet is not black even if the rest of you is!”
